Habit? Or Something More Harmful?

Constant eye rubbing could be a sign of keratoconus (KC)—a vision problem you can’t ignore.

KC is a progressive eye disease that can lead to significant vision loss. And the simple, reflexive act of rubbing your eyes may be both a cause of keratoconus, and a symptom. Early diagnosis is important.

What is keratoconus?

Keratoconus, or KC, is an underdiagnosed, and progressive eye disease in which the cornea (the clear layer on the front of your eye) thins and weakens over time, causing a cone-like bulge to form, oftentimes distorting vision.

If you rub your eyes and are experiencing vision changes, make the connection. See the symptoms!
