After watching her mother and brother live with keratoconus, Katie was diagnosed with progressive keratoconus in 2013 when she was in her early 20s. Working as a medical coder for a large hospital system, Katie spends eight hours a day or more looking at a computer screen. She is planning to receive FDA-approved corneal cross-linking soon to slow or halt the progression of her keratoconus.
